Security Forces Kill 5 Terrorists, 2 Soldiers Killed

Security forces engaged in three separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, resulting in the elimination of five terrorists and the unfortunate loss of two soldiers. The encounters took place in the districts of Baramulla, Shopian, and Kulgam.

The first encounter occurred in the Kreeri area of Baramulla, where security forces launched an operation based on specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists. During the ensuing gunfight, one terrorist was killed and a soldier sustained injuries.

The second encounter took place in the Dragad area of Shopian, where terrorists opened fire on security forces. In the retaliatory action, two terrorists were neutralized and one soldier was killed. The slain terrorists were identified as local residents involved in several terror-related incidents.

The third encounter occurred in the Kellar area of Kulgam, where security forces cordoned off a suspected hideout of terrorists. A fierce gunfight ensued, resulting in the elimination of two terrorists. However, during this encounter, one soldier made the supreme sacrifice while valiantly fighting the terrorists.

The security forces have expressed their deepest condolences to the families of the martyred soldiers and have vowed to continue their relentless efforts to combat terrorism in the region. The identity and affiliation of the slain terrorists are being ascertained.
